Gender Blind

Moving beyond gendered roles in partnered dance — any body can lead, follow, lift, or be lifted regardless of gender identity. The aspiration is genuine: the physics of CI is gender-blind, and gendered role assignments create artificial constraints on movement possibility. The term itself, however, is contested — and the tension between the founding ideal and contemporary critique belongs on the map.
