Touching

The foundational act of physical contact — in CI, touch is not a gesture but a sensory channel, a way of seeing, listening, and communicating through the skin. Touch carries more information per second than vision in the context of shared movement, making it the primary medium through which two bodies coordinate. It is CI's defining element: the thing that distinguishes it from all other improvised dance forms.
